Employee Assistance Program

Almost all of us, at one time or another, experience serious personal problems. Sometimes they affect job performance, sometimes they don't. Because Orangeburg County Council values our employees personally as well as the work they do, we provide a comprehensive "Employee Assistance Program" (EAP) to give employees the help they need, when they need it. EAP is confidential, professional and available for those times when we have personal problems. No problem is too big or too small. EAP can assist in the following problem areas: marital, family, children, financial/legal, alcohol abuse, drug and substance abuse, grief, anxiety, depression, stress, and other personal or emotional problems. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE BEEN INFORMED AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING:

  • THAT NOTHING IN THE ORANGEBURG COUNTY EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK OR IN ANY SEPARATE POLICY OF ORANGEBURG COUNTY (“THE COUNTY”) SHALL BE DEEMED TO CONSTITUTE A CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT.
  • THAT ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE COUNTY, INCLUDING ME, ARE EMPLOYEES “AT WILL” WHOSE EMPLOYMENT MAY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME, BY ME OR BY THE COUNTY, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE OR CAUSE.
  • THAT THE POLICIES IN THE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK WILL IN NO WAY ALTER THE “AT-WILL” NATURE OF MY EMPLOYMENT.
  • THAT ONLY THE COUNTY COUNCIL HAS THE AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO ANY AGREEMENT REGARDING LENGTH OF SERVICE OR GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION AND ANY SUCH AGREEMENT MUST BE IN WRITING, APPROVED BY COUNTY COUNCIL, AND SIGNED BY THE ADMINISTRATOR.

  • (2) THAT IT IS MY DUTY TO KEEP CURRENT WITH THE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK VIA THE WEBSITE OR REQUEST TO HR. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO READ, UNDERSTAND, BECOME FAMILIAR WITH, AND COMPLY WITH THE POLICIES IN THE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK.
