Monitoring ISAIAS

The County is at OPCON 2, meaning we are closely and continuously monitoring the storm. After a meeting with State and NWS officials this morning, here is our current update for the County of Orangeburg:

πŸŒ€ The rain will begin to reach our area between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. today
πŸŒ€ We can see rainfall totals between 1 1/2 - 4 inches, varying by location and storm's track
πŸŒ€ Please be sure to avoid driving through any ponding or flooding waters. Remember, TURN AROUND, DONT DROWN!
πŸŒ€Please be aware of any potential hazards, including downed trees and power lines. ALWAYS assume a downed power line is live, and avoid going near it!
πŸŒ€ The associated increase in winds will begin around 5 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m.
πŸŒ€ The City of Orangeburg can expect to see 25 mph gusts
πŸŒ€ The eastern end of our county (such as Holly Hill, Eutawville) can see gusts up to 35 mph with sustained winds around 20-25 mph
πŸŒ€ We anticipate the worst of it will be through by Midnight
πŸŒ€ We, along with the State, do NOT anticipate many power issues, but are ready to respond should the need arise. Please contact your service provider with any issues.
πŸŒ€ At this time, we will NOT be opening any shelters.

Please be proactive and ensure your Hurricane Readiness Plan is updated and activated.
